The NOTYQ Retreat

I had such a wonderful time at the North of the Yarra Quilters' Retreat but came back very very tired, hence I've been asleep most of the last three days.  But now I'm feeling re energised and ready to face the world again.
I was lucky enough to be collected by my dear friend Christine on Friday and off we went for a day of shopping on the way to Myrniong.
We started off with a hot chocolate while we planned our route and then off to GJ's where I was lucky enough to buy some of the new Tilda range.
Next stop was beautiful Cutting Cloth in Fairfield.
We left the city and headed out to Gisborne to enjoy a delicious lunch at Three Little Pigs
and a catch up with gorgeous Marg and her friends at  Patch' n Quilt.  It was wonderful to chat to Marg and meet Gabby and all the other lovely ladies.
Our last stop was lovely Millrose Quilts in Ballan, where it seemed half of the NOTYQ retreat attendees were happily shopping.
Then off to the quilting retreat.  My lovely little room overlooked the lake.
Lake Dewar is such a pretty venue and I must say I particularly enjoyed the beautiful and abundant birdlife.
I absolutely adore Sew Mama Sew and all the wonderful patterns and projects shared by Christine and Beth.
Just follow this LINK to find the pattern for magnificent Good Day Sunshine.

I'm off for my regular Pokeman hunt with Henry.  Wish us luck.

Pokemon hunting

I'm sorry there is no blog post today, but I'm off Pokemon hunting with Henry. Tomorrow I'll be heading off early to a three day quilting retreat with Christine and the rest of the fabulous North of the Yarra Quilters. Should be great fun. See you Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend

Feeling good

It is so wonderful to feel well again...I am filled with happiness.  I decided to have a day of pampering to celebrate.  So after having my hair done in the morning I popped over to David Jones at Eastland.  There is a teaching Day Spa in the beauty section of DJ's and my gorgeous niece Megan is a student there.  She is such a sweetie.
This is a beautiful day spa and the prices are such good value.
If you decide to treat yourself please book with lovely Megan.

Have you been keeping up with the gorgeous Bee blocks by Pamela, of Sweet Little Stitches, which are featured at the Moda Bakeshop.

I love the latest one which you can find by following this LINK.  Enormous thanks to Pamela for sharing her gorgeous designs with us.
Have a great day

Gail's Stitching Day

After a couple of horrible weeks healthwise I've been out and about lately and it feels fantastic.  On Saturday I went to one of Gail and Ramona's wonderful stitching days.
As always there were great goodie bags with gifts and four delightful patterns + starter kits,
yummy lollies on the table, a delicious devonshire tea in the morning, tasty lunch and superb afternoon tea.
Allison captured me gobbling was delicious.
I sat with wonderful people,

caught up with even more and met some new people who I hope I spend time with in the future.
It was great to catch up with some friends from NOTYQ...recently back from Japan...we'll be off on retreat together next week...can't wait.
There were many lovely samples on display and I did visit Gail's little pop up shop...of course.

Today's LINK is to this delightful pincushion on my dear friend Jenny's blog...Elefantz.
It is so beautiful, just like Jenny.
Have a wonderful day

No Fuss Swappers Swap

I love these simple but fun swaps organised by The Tuesday Girls, Helen, Sandi, Teresa and Noreen. I was lucky enough to receive my pressies from Sue of Kiwikids Page.

Thank you so much Sue for the wonderful gifts.
I loved having sweet Cheryl as the person I sent to and this is what I sent.

The little cross stitch pouch had a secret pocket in the back so I was able to pop in a little Theodora Cleave button...sorry I forgot to take a pic of it.
I caught up with Cheryl at Gail's Stitchery day on Saturday...more about that tomorrow.
If you pop over to visit lovely Jennifer at Ellison Lane you will find the pattern for this wonderful paper pieced star.

Just follow this LINK.  Many many thanks to Jennifer for sharing it with us.

Have a wonderful day

More little hexies

I've made a couple more hexies for my Confetti Quilt.  Remembering Di Ford Hall's words of wisdom I tried to make a couple of simple flowers although I couldn't resist a fussy cut bird in the centres.
I'm really enjoying making these hexie flowers from my Tilda stash.
Many many thanks to Angel at fabulous Fleece Fun for sharing this delightful and practical project.

Please follow this LINK to view the fabulous tutorial.

Hope you enjoy a great day

Spoilt by Ondrea

I love crochet so I was absolutely thrilled to receive a surprise parcel from sweet Ondrea.  She always signs her letters with Angel Hugs and she is certainly my angel.   Enormous thanks...I absolutely adore my washcloths.  Mind you they will not be used as washcloths here...they will be proudly displayed on my kitchen dresser.

I am also very lucky that my lovely friend Dianne is going to teach me to crochet starting next Wednesday.
Thanks again to sweet Ondrea.
I've only just discovered Alice Caroline.  Such a beautiful place to visit especially if you adore Liberty fabrics.  This dear little rabbit pattern is shared at Alice Caroline.

You can find the pattern by following this LINK.  I think it is just so sweet.  Many thanks to all involved in sharing it with us.

Hope you are enjoying a lovely day
