The cutest little tin

One of the things I did while I was on my blogging break was to go away with a group of my gorgeous sewing friends for a stitching retreat.  Actually it should have been called an eating, chatting, sewing, laughing retreat as there was a good deal more of these activities than stitching. These women are a marvellous group and we all get on so well, united by a love of Di Ford Hall's quilts.
(As you can see, we are not that good at selfies, but I promise you we were all happy.)

We stayed at the beautiful Mill Rose Retreat, located next door to Millrose Quilts in Ballan.  Quite a few of us bought the sweetest little decorated sewing tins and here is the one I chose.  I just love it.

I've been looking for some projects with a Spring theme even though we are heading in Autumn (Fall) here.  I thought this one is really sweet and I hope you like it too.
I found it at Thimbleanna as part of an Aurifil blog hop back in 2011.  Please follow this LINK if you would like a copy of the project.  Many many thanks to everyone involved in sharing it.

Hope you have time for some stitching today
PS A big happy birthday to my dad.  By my calculations he is 22 and a bit.  His birthday is February 29th so we always celebrate it on the 28th

The bees are starting to buzz

I've not been stitching much lately but I do have a sweet little bee in my hoop at the moment.
It is from Kathy Schmitz's lovely book Stitches from the Garden and destined for my Di Ford Hall bee quilt.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so here's a lovely little love heart project which I thought you might enjoy.
You can find it by following this LINK to delightful Pretty Fabric and Trims.  Enormous thanks to Sarah for sharing it with us.
Hope Monday brings a week of happiness

I'm so excited...

... that the latest Di Ford Hall fabric range called Bally Hall has arrived in Melbourne quilt shops.  My local quilt shop, The Quilt Shop in Eltham has the whole range in stock and it is heavenly.  They do mail order too.
Lucky me... 4 and a half metres of this beauty came home with me.  I plan to buy all of the range over the next few weeks picking up half a metre each time I visit this gorgeous shop.

LiEr at gorgeous Ikat Bag shares this clever and delightful Strawberry bag HERE.

Very spoilt

I was very spoilt by my lovely family and friends on my birthday.  One of my gifts was this fabulous A3 lightbox.  Since it was such a super bargain I thought I'd share the details with you in case you want one too.
Jack is very good at searching out bargains on Ebay and I think this one is a beauty. I've seen the A3 size for sale in shops for between $150 - $200 and it was less than $40.00 HERE.

Here's another project that has stolen my heart.  You can find this gorgeous bag pattern HERE at
C & T  Publishing.  Many thanks to everyone involved.

Hope you enjoy your day and if you are in Melbourne stay cool

A bird, a basket and a bird house

These are the things I added to my Round the Garden quilt last night.  We are in for a very hot couple of days here in Melbourne so, other than horrible housework, I plan to sit inside in the cool and stitch.

You can always rely on  Caroline from Sew She Can to share delightful patterns and tutorials.  And this cute table mat is no exception.
Designed by guest blogger Heidi Staples it is super cute.  You can find the pattern by following this LINK.  Many thanks to both Heidi and Caroline for sharing it with us.

Hope you have a delightful day

Enormous thanks...

...for all the lovely birthday good wishes.  I had a wonderful time.  I'm back to sewing now so I added a little bird cage to my tree which is part of Wendy Williams' Round the Garden quilt.
This quilt is so much fun to stitch.
I love the designs of lovely Anorina from Samelia's Mum.  I found this lovely mat at Seams and Scissors, where Anorina was a guest blogger.  Please follow this LINK.

Have a wonderful day
